He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey W. Mitchell and Pearl Mitchell. He is survived by: his children, Joseph Mitchell (Ann), Patricia Mitchell Ramsey (late Lake), Carol Mitchell Kaye (Patrick) and Mike Mitchell (Cindy Beagle); and his stepdaughter Sherry Walker (Gary Bryant).
A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 15th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Bevis Funeral Home & Crematory (200 John Knox Rd, Tallahassee, FL 32303). A committal service was held on Thursday, January 15th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Tallahassee National Cemetery (5015 Apalachee Pkwy, Tallahassee, FL 32311).
