He was predeceased by : his parents, Malcolm Alex Cushing and Etha Ida Rich Cushing; his wife Joyce Raye Turner Cushing; his daughter Jill Cushing McArthur; and his siblings, James Malcolm Cushing, Dawnita Cushing Droney, Theodore Cushing, Robert Cushing and Earl A. Cushing.

He is survived by : his daughters, Patsy, Cindy (David Retherford), Pat (Thad Lee) and Cathy Brock-Revell; his grandchildren, Ryan (Kari), Michael (Jessica), Patrick (Kendall), Katy (Justin), Amy (Kevin), John (Connie), Jason (Amanda), Julie (Ricky), Lance (Michelle), Lawrence (Kimberly), Lynn (Eddie Joe) and Sarah (Zack); his siblings, Winona Tadlock, Harrell Cushing, Ruth Garrett, Carolyn (Pat Anderson) and Naomi (John Ferguson); and his sister-in-law Mary. He is also survived by 30 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
