He is survived by: his siblings, Leonard and Leola; his wife Josette Thompson; his children, Lucressie McGriff (Walter) of Clermont, FL, Cameron Dugans (Tiacey) of Douglasville, GA, James Dugans, Jr. of Tallahassee, FL., Josie West (Perry Sr.) of Tallahassee, FL., Eric Dugans (Tina) of Tallahassee, FL., Brian Burney of Tallahassee, FL., Archie Hogan (Macalene) of Tallahassee, FL., Cora Brown of Tallahassee, FL., Aundra Akins (Carolette) of Tallahassee, FL., Rene Beasley of Tallahassee, FL., Calisia Dugans of Tallahassee, FL., Ron Dugans (Yasheka), Stephanie Dugans of Tallahassee, FL and Marshea Dugans (Yumi) of Tampa, FL; his niece Daisy Hogan; his godchildren, Ayanna McClendon and Brodrick Dupoint; and his children, Kathryn, Sharon, Rosemary and Terry. He is also survived by 47 Grandchildren, 84 Great Grandchildren, 6 Great Great Grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Strong & Jones Funeral Home (629 W Brevard St, Tallahassee, FL 32304). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Old West Florida Enrichment Center (2344 Lake Bradford Rd, Tallahassee, FL 32310).
