He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas J. Whitfield, Sr. and Thelma Whitfield (Alford); and his siblings, Cary Whitfield, Thomas J. Whitfield, Jr. and Frances Graham.

He is survived by: his wife Lorene Whitfield; and his daughter Lisa. He is also survived by son-in- law and two grandchildren, several nephews, aunt (s) and many very special cousins.
