He was predeceased by: his parents, William Franklin Chafin and Johnnie Wynell Singletary Chafin; his siblings, Howard Chafin, William H. Chafin, James Robert Chafin and Margaret Chafin Boone; and his stepmother Marie Chafin.
He is survived by: his wife Paula Butler Chafin; his children, Paul F. Chafin (Mary), Kathy Chafin Coggins (Bryan) and Melanie Chafin Bradle (Chris); his sisters, Sarah Wright (Ronnie), Elsie Myrick and Brenda Peters; his grandchildren, Waylon Coggins, Paul Chafin, John Chafin, Keely Bradle, Cheyenne Coggins and Brax Bradle; and his brother-in-law Ray Butler. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Florida Baptist Children's Home.
