She was predeceased by: her parents, Ola Morrell Searcy and George Washington Searcy; her husband George Hammell; her daughter Karen Califano; and her siblings, Novie Casey, Huey Searcy, Tessie McCallum, Autie McCallum, Essie Jenkins, Nolie Herring and Tillie Daniels.
She is survived by: her children, Deborah Hatcher (Sonny Hatcher), Benjamin Goneberg and Samuel Hammell (Christina); her grandchildren, Michael Califano, Jennifer Goneberg Whitehurst, Jared Hamil and Christopher Hamil; and her great grandchildren, Anna Beth Whitehurst and Mary Catherine.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Tallahassee Memory Gardens (4037 N Monroe St, Tallahassee, FL 32303).
