He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray D. McDonald, Sr. and Ethel Newton McAlpin; and his stepfather Thomas McAlpin. He is survived by: his children, Michelle McDonald Higdon (Ralph) and Brian Shea McDonald; his siblings, Patsy Stokes, Joy Brady, Nina Diamond and Thomas R. "Buddy" McDonald (Judy); and his grandchildren, Dusty McDonald, Sidney McDonald, Matthew McDonald, Briana McDonald, Ramsey Higdon Jones, Andrew Higdon, Justin Higdon and Dillon McDaniel. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Childrens' Research Hospital.
