He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Seay and Lottie Mozelle Barrett (Harris) of Mellow Valley, Alabama.; his siblings, Christine Jordan of Derwood Barrett, L. G, Charles Barrett, Rebecca Patterson, Wana Jean Barrett and Nathan Barrett; his wife Doris Bailey Barrett; and his children, Maxwell Keith Barrett and Sheree Lynn Barrett.
He is survived by: his siblings, Huey Barrett, Reggie Barrett and Glenda Perry; his daughter Wanda Barrett Yelvington (Mike); his granddaughters, Sarah Yelvington Adeshina (Will) and Heather Yelvington; and his great grandchild Caro Jessamine Adeshina. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
