He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Godwin and Betty Standley Godwin; and his brother Ronald Godwin. He is survived by: his wife Sarah Stewart Godwin; his sons, Dr. David Godwin (Katie Kight) and Dr. Daniel Godwin (Katie Nuessly); his grandchildren, Ben and Emily Godwin; his brother Rev. Stan Godwin (Jennifer Morrow); his siblings-in-law, Alice Stewart Matthews and Charles Stewart; his nephew Daniel; and also, Donna Godwin Curry (David) and Aster.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Suwannee River Area Council BSA, 2032 Thomasville Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32308.
