With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ruth Tiefel of Tallahassee, Florida, born in Moundsville, West Virginia, who passed away on December 31, 2025 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl H. Shook and Mary Ferrell Shook; her husband Robert Wood Tiefel; her son Robert Lynn Tiefel (Patrcia); and her siblings, Donald E., Carl R., Ivan L. Shook, Mary Mardell Rogerson and Evelyn V. Shook.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Beth Estes (James Barry, Jr.), Larry Dareld Tiefel (Karin) and Steven Douglas Tiefel (Lynda); her grandchildren, Jaime Nicole Estes (Bennett Wachob) and Devin Barry Estes (Brooke); and her great grandchild Beckett Michael Estes. She is also survived by numerous step- grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
