Sandra Williams Rackley Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sandra Williams Rackley (Tallahassee, Florida), born in Mobile, Alabama, who passed away on September 23, 2023 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her spouse Larney "Jack" Rackley; her siblings, Herschell Williams, Jr. and Muriel Battle; her brothers-in-law, Eliot Battle, Sr. (Carolyn Gavin) and Vernon Gavin, Sr.; her nieces, Pamela Gavin Ellison and Tanya Faye Williams; and also Joaquin M. Holloway, Jr..

She is survived by: her parents, Herschell Williams and Juanita Williams; her stepdaughters, Jamelle Rackley of Atlanta and Lurma Rackley of Tyrone, GA; and her nieces and nephews, Donna Battle Pierce of Santa Monica, CA, Carolyn Battle Thomas of Chicago, IL, Muriel Battle Browder of Columbia, MO, Juanita Williams Nicholson (Gary) of New Orleans, LA, Eliot Battle, Jr. (Sally) of Washington, D. C. and Vernon Gavin, Jr. (Sethyne) of Sacramento, CA. She is also survived by grandchildren, great- grandchildren; and many loving close friends.

For the purpose of research and with the hope that even in death she could continue her mission to help others, Sandra unselfishly donated her body to the University of Florida research center. In lieu of flowers, it was Sandra's wish that contributions be made to the Sandra W.
