He is survived by: his children, Kim Stockdale (Roger), Debbie Dickey, Melinda Pelt, Rick Champion, Sherman Champion Jr., Todd Champion and George Pelt Jr.; and his siblings, Carlton Champion (Sue), Audrey Terry and Stella Hough.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Pine Memorial Cemetery.
