It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sherwood DeForest (Tallahassee, Florida), born in Ames, Iowa, who passed away on January 15, 2024, at the age of 102, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Ray and Clara Maud Searle DeForest; his wife Ginny; his siblings, Jack DeForest and Frances Rae Cowen; and his son David Flynn DeForest.

He is survived by: his daughters, Debra Granato, Denise DeForest and Kimberly Durrett; and his grandchildren, Ryan Granato (Ashley), Danielle Granato, Wayne Durrett (Jill) and Christopher Durrett. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
