Steven L. Buckhalter Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Steven L. Buckhalter of Tallahassee, Florida, who passed away on March 5, 2026. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Steven L. Buckhalter to pay them a last tribute.

As we bid Steven farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Steven is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Herman Buckhalter and Wilma Burke; his wife Ann Carmichael Buckhalter; his children, Georgia Thompson (Craig Thompson) and Matthew Buckhalter (Tara Buckhalter); and his grandchildren, Price, Wyndham, Reid and Elliot.

In lieu of flowers, Steve may be remembered by contributions to St. James Episcopal Church in Perry, FL (http://www.stjamesperry.org) or the United Way of the Big Bend (https://uwbb.org).

Bob Shally wrote a sympathy message

“Ann and family. Alecia and I were so shocked to read of Steve's passing. We recalled vividly all the baseball games we all attended and the fun times as the parents really became a family - at least for a season. Please accept our condolences and know that our prayers are with you. We did let Josh (Faughn) know of Steve's passing and his remarks were "Yea! I remember him. He was one of the good guys". Yes he was. Bob & Alecia Shally and Josh Faughn.”
