He was predeceased by: his parents, George Stillman Benjamin and Marjorie Stockman Benjamin; his daughter Angela "Angel" Benjamin; his siblings, Joseph "Joe" S Benjamin, Walter Benjamin and Shirley Benjamin; his parents-in-law, Wilbur J McEwan and Louie Dell Copeland McEwan; and his siblings-in-law, Darla Benjamin, Valerie Benjamin, Sharon McEwan Palmer, Charles Glisson, James "Jim" D Gregory, Sr., William "Bill" H Kelley and Waldo H Palmer, Sr..

He is survived by: his family Sally; his wife Sally Ann McEwan Benjamin; his siblings, Leo George Benjamin (Betty Jo) of Harrodsburg, KY, Kenneth "Ken" Jay Benjamin (Rose) of Stockton, CA and Violet Bernice Prendergast (John) of Pueblo, CO; and his sisters-in-law, Sylvia Gregory Kelley of Tallahassee and Shirley McEwan Moore (DeVoe) of Tallahassee. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.

William contracted Covid-19 while in Omaha and spent a month in the hospital there.
