He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Nancy Gentry; his daughters, Monica Menahem and Melissa Apolinario; his former life partner Rachael Watson; his children, Molly Gentry, Catlin Gentry (Courtney Silva) and Kellie Bodiford; his parents, Beatrice Maxfield and Oakley Gentry; his siblings, Oakley Gentry, Beatrice Sweick, Amelia Enright, Jacqueline LeCoche and Christopher Gentry; and his grandchildren, Farah Bodiford, Gavin Bodiford, Oakleigh Gentry, Savannah Wakefield, Whitney Wakefield, Abigail Wakefield and Riley Wakefield.
