He is survived by: his husband Douglas Carson; his mother Barbara Abdirkin of Tamarac; his brother David; his sister-in-law Isabel Abdirkin of St. James; his sister Susan Abdirkin of Hamden, Connecticut.; his nephews, Jared Abdirkin (Richard Song) of Warwick, Daniel Abdirkin of Boulder, Nate Gallant and Noah Gallant of Brooklyn; and his great-nephew Jackson Abdirkin Song.
