It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Vonnie Carlton of Tamarac, Florida, born in Augusta, Georgia, who passed away on July 22, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Steve Carlton and Susie Carlton; his wife Betty; his siblings, Junior Carlton, Spence Carlton and Lois Carlton; and his sons, Rick and Ray Carlton.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Martha Reeves; his daughter Stacy Stargel (Joe); his grandchildren, Michael Middleton (Fallon), Alan Middleton (Morgan), Stephanie Bennett (Barry) and Sydney Stargel; his great grandchildren, Trevor Middleton, Camron Bennett, Mikaela Hughes, Emma Inguanta, Charley Middleton, Travis Inguanta, Grace Stargel and Faith Stargel; his great great grandchild Waylon Middleton; and his siblings, James Carlton (Carol), Shirley Hardage and Cliff Carlton (Sandy). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to his favorite charities: The Shriners Hospital for Children and The Wounded Warrior Project A.
