She was predeceased by: her parents, George McDowell and Fern McDowell; her brother Douglas; and her pets, Ginny and Ginger.
She is survived by: her close friend Rick Libka; her daughter Stephanie Gresham; her son-in-law Jed Gresham; and her grandchildren, Charlie, Sam and Tommy.
Instead of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the ASPCA to honor Carolyn's love for animals.
