He was predeceased by: his parents, LaVetia Scheibly (Roady) of Fairfield, CA and Charles A Scheibly; his sisters, Barbara Alvarado and Carol Silva; and his son-in-law Col Joseph Hoecherl.

He is survived by: his wife Judy Leifheit of Tampa; his children, Kelly Hoecherl of Tampa, Jon Scheibly (Jennifer) of Jacksonville Beach and Wendy Smith (Kevin) of Wellington; his grandson Joseph Hoecherl (Emily); his great grandchildren, Claira and Theo; his grandson Kevin Hoecherl (Taylor); his great grandchildren, Harrison, Henry, Mercy and Hobbes; his granddaughter Kristin Beckmeyer (Adam); his great grandchildren, Job and Gracie; his grandchildren, Christopher Scheibly (Lexi), Emmaleigh Scheibly, Ryan Smith, Riley Smith, Zack Smith (Lukas) and Hannah Smith; his sister Jodi Neimeyer (Robert); and his brother-in-law Richard Alvarado. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
