He was predeceased by: his wife Sarah Sanchez; and his parents, Delia Trespalacios and Rogelio Trespalacios. He is survived by: his children, David Sanchez (Odalis), Julia Sanchez-Sharabi (Eran), Stephanie Sanchez and Michelle Vidal (Albert); his grandchildren, David Sanchez Jr. (Milah), Brian Sanchez (Melissa), Jakob Vidal (Daniel Walker) and Miranda Vidal; and his great grandchildren, Chloe and Ryker Sanchez.

In lieu of flowers, Ernest would have preferred that you donate to St. Jude's children's hospital.
