He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Gaus and Helen Gaus (Birtel); his wife Joan Krager; and his siblings, Carl, Howard, Fred, Ruth, Evelyn and Harold.
He is survived by: his sons, George and Stephen; his grandchildren, Paul (April), Dan (Amy), Jim (Stephanie), Erin (Jason) and Chris (Jessica); his great grandchildren, Riley, Dylan, Aden and Joshua; his daughter-in-law Betty (Stephen); his siblings, Helen, Ethel, Earl, Frank, Carol, Edwin and Sharon; and his close friend Lucy. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
