He was predeceased by: his parents, James Walter Byrd Sr. and Colleen Compton Byrd; and his sister Diane Fortner. He is survived by: his siblings, Michael B. Byrd, Robert A. Byrd and Gayle Walp. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
