He is survived by: his wife Suzanne R. Taggart; his children, Paige Taggart, Jolyn Lively (Derek), Teale Smith (Trey) and Joe Taggart (Mary); his grandchildren, Ian McCoy, Brooke Lively, Ty Lively, Reid Taggart, Mac Taggart, Knox Taggart, Henry Smith and Barrett Smith; and his brother John Taggart (Barbara). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in Joe's memory to Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church and the Tampa General Hospital Foundation.
