She was predeceased by : her parents, Walter Collins and Mattie Bruce; and her brothers, Percy Henderson and Pete Henderson. She is survived by : her son James Purnell (Carolyn); her grandchildren, Russell Gaines and James Purnell, Jr.; her great grandchildren, Jasmine Purnell, Alexis Gaines, James Purnell III, Channel Purnell, Xavier Purnell, AnaLeya Gaines, Alijah Marie Purnell and Alani Gaines; her nieces and nephews, Evelyn Henderson, Darrick Henderson (Tarra), Mary Henderson-Clegg (Clarence), Veronda Love (Terrance) and Doloris Williams (John); her sister-in-law Dorothy Norton; and her close friends, Jacqueline Martin and Shirley Hordge. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
