He was predeceased by: his parents, Betty Vanderpool and Jack Vanderpool; and his sister Vicki Vanderpool. He is survived by: his wife Darla; his children, Doug Vanderpool (Amanda), Madeline, Jade, Jackson, Jayson and Michelle Brands (Terry); his grandchildren, Nelson and Sydney; his son Curtis Smith (CW); his granddaughter Rose; his daughter Kristin Way (Spencer); his grandchildren, Kennedy and Brooklyn; his daughter Amie Hale (Josh); his grandchildren, Dustin, Jay (Aby), Jonce (Keely) and Alexa; his son Tyler Mark (Stacy); and his grandchildren, Harper and Max.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church (210 S Wesley St, Indianola, IA 50125).
