Leon Nathaniel Yates Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on March 6, 2026, at the age of 71, Leon Nathaniel Yates (Tampa, Florida) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Nathaniel Yates. He is survived by: his wife Lisa Yates; his mother Mattie Ellis Drury (Joe); his daughter LaKeisha Yates; his stepdaughters, Macy Patterson and Nicole Jones; his grandchildren, Destinee Stringer, Dallas Patterson and Christopher DeJon Penister; his great grandchildren, Jamarian Stringer-Robinson, Zionnah Robinson and Sariyah Mitchell; and his brothers, Bobby Yates, Larry Yates and Alfonso Diggs. He is also survived by Numerous Aunts, Uncles, nieces/nephews and cousins.

He helped spearhead an annual charity event at DSCA to raise funds for The Fisher House, which was near and dear to his heart.
