He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth Kennedy Kizer. He is survived by: his sister Frances Belle Olson of Lincoln, Nebraska; his daughters, Carol Kizer Schroder (Sebastian) of Bluffton and Lee Ellen Kizer Duran (Stephen) of Tampa, Florida; and his grandchildren, Rebecca of Seattle and Joshua of Tampa, Florida..
