“I first met Marilynn in Madrid, Spain, in the late 1970's. She spoke perfect Spanish and was teaching English at the same language institute as me. She was quiet but funny, and liked to bar-hop and eat tapas, which were free if you bought a glass of beer or wine. She had a boyfriend from Chile (I had one from Argentina), and we actually left Spain the same year and settled in Boston with our boyfriends. We lost touch after a few years, but I remember her as good person. May she enjoy more tapas in heaven!”
