She is survived by: her children, Phyllis Thompson Lawrence (Jesse), Sharon Thompson and Reginald (Thompson); her grandchildren, Tonyata Thompson, Kaya Lawrence, Kennedy Green, Lakesha Thompson, Reginald, Kamilah Cohen, Abdul Mitchell, Jaturah, Joia Jefferson, Dontriel Edwards, Corey, Chauncey, Chantel Freeman and Cedric Hicks; her great grandchildren, Terrence and Terrencia Nichols; her nieces and nephews, Constance Cummings (Jerome), Cynthia McRae (family: Yvonne Aikens, Desiree Green, Darlene Williams, Belinda Morris, Rhonda Morris, Ebony Morris, Janeen Lynn, Betty Patterson, Sabrina Williams), Joseph Williams, Jr., Raymond Williams, Sr., Douglas Williams, Anthony Williams, Jerome Cummings, Jr., Raymond Williams, Jr., Demond Williams, Greg Williams and Creswell Patterson; her daughter-in-law Denise Jefferson; her godchildren, Delores Wingfield, Renee Hutcherson, LaTanya Jackson and Bishop James Howell; and her friends, Essie Chaney, Barbara Johnson, Hazel Brown, Debra Gano and Solomon Davis, Sr.. Martha actively supported various organizations financially, such as Metropolitan Ministries, St. Jude Research for children, Wounded Warriors of America, American Cancer Society, only to name a few.
