He was predeceased by: his parents, Venkatramana Bhat and Rathna Bai; and his sister Jayashree. He is survived by: his wife Yashoda Bhat; his children, Surekha Bhat Husmann (Nathan), Ambika Bhat (Oshan) and Nandini Bhat Drummy (Matthew); and his grandchildren, Kian Husmann, Bodhi Husmann and Uma Drummy. He is also survived by six siblings, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
