He was predeceased by: his parents, Levi Pearson and Augustine Pearson; his siblings, Carlton, Jim, Melvin Pearson, Leroy Simmons, Thelma and Jessie Mae Stephens; and his sons, Sebastian Brown, Michael Shaw and Kamau Clark.
He is survived by: his wife Ona Pearson; his children, Richard Pearson, Jr., Kenvin Pearson, Eric Allen, Greg Allen, Angela Pearson, Antoinette Wilson and Leontye Williams; and his sisters, Shirley Gore, Joanne Pearson and Jacqueline Gayle. He is also survived by grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
