“I met Ron through the St Petersburg Astronomy Club Mirror Lab. He was one of our volunteer instructors for many years helping people make their own telescopes. He even operated the lab out of his house when we lost our building we met in. He really enjoyed astronomy and was always learning something new and spreading the knowledge. He has touched the lives of many people and families in the astronomy community and will be missed. Ralph Craig”

“Ron was a dear friend who taught me everything I know about mirror making. Though he was a private man, he was always kind and generous with his time, often sharing stories and knowledge for hours. Astronomy was his passion, and he dedicated much of his time to making it accessible to everyone. At many outreach events, he would bring a refurbished telescope and gift it to a family.
