She is survived by: her parents, Rebecca Basenfelder and Sanjay Patel; her grandparents, Bhogilal, Indira Patel (Ohio), Robert F. and C. Fabiola Maes Basenfelder of Rome, NY; her aunts, Aleta Duvall, Birdie Basenfelder and Romona Gan (Roy Gan); her uncle Timothy Basenfelder; her cousins, Eva Duvall and Robert Duvall; her aunts and uncles, Samir Patel (Liz) and Sujata Patel (Nick); her cousins, Sonia Jurkowski (Jason), Tyler Potter (Kelly), Casey Potter, Sydney Potter, Mia Patel, Ajay Patel and Nick Patel; her stepsister Katia Cooke; and her pet Luna.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 8th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Harborside Christian Church (2100 Marshall St, Safety Harbor, FL 34695).
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Harborside Church directly on its website as General Tithes and Offerings and add a note to reflect "In Memory and Honor of Sofia Patel".
