Stephen Joseph Szabo MD Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Stephen Joseph Szabo MD of Tampa, Florida, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 30, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen Szabo and Patricia Szabo; his brothers, Bruce Szabo and Barry Szabo; and his brothers-in-law, Ronald Ross and Michael Hauser.

He is survived by: his wife Jeanette Szabo (McGee); his sons, Stephen Szabo III (Pamela), Douglas and Mark; his grandchildren, Brittany Scime (Matthew), Douglas Szabo, Jr. (Stephanie), Emily Szabo (Daniel Moas), Christopher Szabo (Madison), Matthew Szabo, Elizabeth Szabo and Catherine Szabo; his great grandchildren, Evelyn, Luke Scime, Benjamin, Maximo, David Moas, Zoe, Zachary Szabo and Lucas Szabo; his siblings, Greg Szabo, Penny Hauser and Pamela Szabo; and his sisters-in-law, Margaret Ross, Colleen, Anne and Arlene Szabo. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (15520 N Blvd, Tampa, FL 33613). A Mass will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A reception will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at 4:30 PM at the Avila Golf and Country Club (943 Guisando De Avila, Tampa, FL 33613).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in his honor to Metropolitan Ministries.
