He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Ann Jones; his sisters, Sheila Walker and Pat Vincent; and his parents, Jackson Porter "J. P." and Zula Jones.

He is survived by: his children, Steve J. Jones Jr. (Tami), John Paul Jones (Gabi), Timothy Jones (Dara) and Celena Black; his grandchildren, Jaxson, Mason, Tyler, Priscilla, Alycia and Nicole; his great grandchildren, Kali, Taylor, Hunter and Harper; and his sister Carol Emberton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice.
