He was predeceased by: his parents, John C. Karvelas Sr. and Alice Karvelas (Medeiros). He is survived by: his daughters, Jamie, Jaclyn and Jessica; his grandchildren, Frankie and Jack; his wife Joyce; and his sister Virginia McCarthy. He is also survived by his stepson; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Jack answered the call to serve in New York City at the height of the crisis.
