He was predeceased by : his parents, William Rice and Lucille Rice; his parents-in-law, Willie of Rockford and Trula Myers (Ingle) of Rockford; his brother-in-law Coy Maggard of Rockford; and his son-in-law Douglas Liddell Kirkland of Ocala.

He is survived by : his wife Barbara Rice (Myers); his children, Michael Scott Rice of Tampa and Sherri Rice Kirkland of Ocala; his grandchildren, Madison Myers Kirkland of Ocala, Rachael Elizabeth Rice of Tampa, Benjamin Scott Rice of Tampa, Jackson Liddell Kirkland of Ocala and Emerson Jane Kirkland of Ocala; his sister Lillian Rice Maggard (Jim Rice) of Rockford; his daughter-in-law Diane Krawczynski Rice of Tampa; his grandsons, Benjamin Rice and Jackson Kirkland; and his nephews, Kevin Rice, Robert Smith and Mike Reagan. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
