She was predeceased by : her father Godofredo "Eddie" Alaras. She is survived by : her mother Zenaida Regulacion Alaras; her husband Frank A. Scimeca; her children, Frankie Scimeca (Meghan) and Emily Scimeca; her siblings, Maria Alaras and Peter "Rick" Alaras (Heather); her niece Alayna; and her nephews, Austin and Ashton. She is also survived by loving extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Leilani's memory to the American Cancer Society or to the Moffitt Foundation.
