She was predeceased by: her parent Earl Himes. She is survived by: her parent Lura Himes (Strombeck); her husband Paul; her children, Christine Miller of The Villages and Greg Miller of Middletown, NY; and her granddaughter Demi Hassiotis of Hoboken, NJ..

“Celebrating Effie's life is so easy as she had a wonderful life filled with fun, friends, and fellowship. Effie and I had so much fun laughing together, especially playing Bridge. It never mattered what cards we were dealt, as we always found humor in the moment. She had a keen mind and a wicked sense of humor. I will never forget her devotion and love for her family. Her pride in her children and husband was evident. She shared how proud she was of her son Gregg and his beautiful photography and of her daughter Chris for her success in her work. She loved her husband Paul dearly and all of her family loved her right back. She felt this love and enjoyed the support of her family all of her life. How blessed to have known love on this earth.
