David D. Whitaker of Tierra Verde, Florida, born on June 24, 1942 in Wilmington, North Carolina, passed away on September 1, 2026. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
David leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. David’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew David will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He is survived by: his daughters, Kristin Whitaker Martinez of Arlington and Jennifer C. Whitaker of Clearwater, Florida; his grandsons, Alexander Martinez of Cincinnati and John Henry Martinez of Arlington, Virginia; and his brother John Whitaker of Dunnellon.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 5:00 PM at the St. Petersburg Women's Club (40 Snell Isle Blvd NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33704).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Parc Center for Disabilities in St. Petersburg.
