We announce the death of Roger Alvarez of Valrico, Florida, who passed away on July 25, 2026, at the age of 88. He was predeceased by: his parents, Manolo Alvarez and Rosa Alvarez; his brothers, Odilio Alvarez (Sonia), Felix Alvarez and Manolito Alvarez; and his son-in-law Stephen Mikesell.
He is survived by: his wife Rafaelina Alvarez (Guerra); his children, Maria Mikesell (Alvarez) of Valrico, Roger Alvarez (Irene) of Bradenton and Marilyn Alvarez of Tampa; his grandchildren, Alexa Hoffmeister (Timothy) of Brandon, Ciara Pinion (Trey) of Tampa, Derek Thompson of Riverview and Vanessa Alvarez of Tampa; his great grandchildren, Timothy Hoffmeister (Trey) of Brandon and Maria Hoffmeister of Brandon; and his brothers, Roberto Alvarez (Olga) of Tennesee and Carlos Alvarez (Laura) of Riverview. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
