He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hardy Downing and Wilma Holton Downing. He is survived by: his wife Kimberly DeShong; his children, Leah Jones (Jesse), Neal Downing (Saori), Kristina (Clint) and Jake DeShong; his siblings, Marilyn, Paul and Gregory Downing; his sister-in-law Tammie Shaver; and his pets, Bella and Trixie.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Nativity Catholic Church (705 E Brandon Blvd, Brandon, FL 33511). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Serenity Meadows Memorial Park Funeral Home & Crematory (6919 Providence Rd, Riverview, FL 33578).
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer you make donations to your charity of choice: Tunnel to Towers, St. Jude Children's Hospital and/or any pet rescue organization.
