He was predeceased by: his former wife Mary (Boissenet); his parents, Thelma (Baugh) and Herald Moyer; his adoptive father C. K. Stewart; and his stepbrother Kurtis Stewart.

He is survived by: his wife Gail (Jackson); his sons, Dan Mix (Beth Ann), Jeff Moyer (Katrina) and James Moyer; his stepsons, Scott Gifford (Kim) and Mark Gifford (Susan); his grandchildren, Greg Moyer (Karlee), Andrew Moyer, Amanda Moyer, Alexandra Moyer, Becca Mix, Courtney Mix, Kailyn Gifford, Shelby Gifford, Haley Gifford, Jake Gifford, Victoria Prosser and Elizabeth Prosser; and his great grandchild Jace Moyer. He is also survived by his children and grandchildren.
