She was predeceased by: her son Daniel; and her parents, Robert Olson and Jean Olson. She is survived by: her daughters, Catherine Rein of Louisville, CO and Lisa Gazzam of Euless, TX; her husband David; her brothers, James Olson of Punta Gorda, FL and Dr. Patrick Olson of San Diego, CA.; Travis Rein, George Gazzam, Mason, Kyra Rein, Tyler and Elizabeth Gazzam.

In lieu of flowers, the family hopes that donations be made to the Venice UCC Mental Health Ministry Group, the South Sarasota County Food pantry, Suncoast Humane Society or a charity of your choice in her memory.

“Penny was my Gamma Phi Beta pledge mother. We many had happy times when we were together. My family spent Tues. Jan, 7 in Gothenburg NE at Gary Lacey's funeral and internment. He was Cay Leitschuck Lacey's first husband who also died on Jan. 2. Cay and Penny were close friends. News of Penny's death was in the paper we saw that night. I am so sorry to learn she is gone. She is reunited with her precious Danny, her parents, and a reunion with Gary. We pray for comfort for all of you.”
