Ella Eunice (Hart) Webster Burroughs Obituary

We are sad to announce that on January 7, 2022, at the age of 94, Ella Eunice Burroughs (Venice, Florida), passed away.

Eunice Webster Burroughs (nee Hart) died on January 7, 2022 in Venice, FL. Eunice was born 6 Aug 1927 in Portsmouth, VA. She was the oldest of 4 siblings born to Otis J.Hart and Viola B. Hart (nee Trimyer) and she had 3 brothers: Norman O Hart (deceased) of Baltimore, MD, Donald L. Hart of Birmingham, AL and Kenneth E Hart (deceased) of Naples, FL. The family moved from VA to the Baltimore area where Eunice spent most of her younger life.

Eunice had 2 short-lived marriages as a young woman but not until 1971 did she meet her life-long love of 30+ years, John D. Webster.Together Eunice and John were involved in many social organizations, including the Elks Club and Optimists Club. They loved to entertain and regularly hosted friends and family for holidays and special occasions.

Eunice never had children of her own but thru her marriage to John, gained a stepson Wade and his family, wife Joan and grandkids Julie and Gregory. They lived in MD until their retirement when she and John moved to Venice, FL. They continued their activities until John's death from Parkinson's Disease in 1999.

Not long after, Eunice met Ray Burroughs who would become her fourth and final husband. She also has a stepson Ray Jr from her marriage to Ray. She lived in Venice with Ray until his death in 2012. They were actively involved in the Venice Elks and enjoyed golf and travel.

Eunice has resided at Sunset Health and Rehab for several years where she continued to enjoy her life with help from family and friends. Eunice is survived by her brother Donald, her stepsons Wade and family and Ray Jr as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
