Mary Gregory Geimer passed away on June 9, 2023. She was born August 23, 1932, to Andrew B. Gregory and Hazel Lyons Gregory.

Mary was the sister of Joan Gregory Carlus and was a Chicago area artist who early in her career was celebrated for her watercolors and the abstract and impressionism style of art, was possibly best known in Crown Point, IN for her miniature paintings and annual ornaments that supported the fundraising efforts of the Crown Point Chamber of Commerce.
An Illinois native, Mary was a master's degree graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she taught for several years, before teaching at Wisconsin State University, Purdue University Calumet and the Crown Point Schools. She was also well known for her ability to work in almost any artistic medium, from paintings to pottery to batik. She is listed in the Chicago Artists files of the Chicago public library for her Design Textiles (including clothing, hooked rugs, and wall hangings). Mary, whose works have appeared in major museums and galleries across the country, said she really hadn't concentrated on the realism style until moving to Crown Point, IN. She ultimately retired to Florida and then moved to Hawaii, returning to Bradenton, Florida.
