He was predeceased by: his son Tony; and his brother James. He is survived by: his wife Thomasine (Tobee); his children, Tom, CeCe and Gia; and his siblings, Robert and Mary Ellen. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.

Inspired by his incredible devotion to the Blessed Mother he founded a charity, Care for Children, through which he opened two dental clinics in Medjugorje for orphans of the Yugoslav War.
