Robert leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Robert’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Robert will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen Rush of Venice; his daughters, Anne-Marie Stacey (Fred) of Washington and Sally Stone (Tim) of Maidens, Virginia; and his stepchildren, Michael James (Gosia) of Falls Church, Thomas James (Claudia) of Fairfax, John James of Burke, Virginia and Jeanne Gibson (John) of Roanoke, Virginia.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 15th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Farley Funeral Homes and Crematory - Venice (265 Nokomis Ave S, Venice, FL 34285). A Mass will be held on Monday, November 16th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (1301 Center Rd, Venice, FL 34292). A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 16th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Sarasota National Cemetery (9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1301 Center Road, Venice, Florida 34292, in Bob's memory.
