He was predeceased by: his father Earnest Q. Sapp; and his siblings, Wilfred, Mildred, Marion, Herbert, Jake and Vivian.

He is survived by: his wife Martha Sapp; his children, Derward E. Sapp (Mary) of Vero Beach and Renee Cheuvront (Mike) of Yeehaw Junction; his grandchildren, Frank (Kasey), Brandon (Hannah), Rebecca (Mike), Kelli (Ben) and Scott (Bill); his great grandchildren, Kylee, Clayton, Lia, Blake, Abel, Bennie and Owen; and his brother Frank Sapp (Jackie) of Richland.
